Your Success – It’s Not IF, But WHEN

I happened to have a bit of time today to unwind after a Valentine’s Day lunch with friends and as usual, this involved a bit of ‘net surfin’ (surprise, surprise).

I’ve written blog posts in the past (and no doubt will continue to in the future) about the importance of taking action to achieve success. But I’ve never really focused on the concept that success really is right under our noses the whole time, and that it only takes a small amount of effort in the form of ACTION to uncover it.

People normally equate success as being a result of a brilliant idea, hidden talent, strong sense of determination or a lucky opportunity.

But none of these things are worth a damn if there is no action applied to them to bring them into reality.

All these things are literally borne from someone’s imagination and do not actually exist in a physical form. It’s only when someone actually takes the effort to bring these ideas from the ethereal to the real that success is achieved.

Taking ACTION makes all the difference

How many times have you thought of a really good idea, only to find out later that someone else had also thought of it and actually developed it into a physical form? The only difference between them and you is that they took ACTION. They physically dragged that concept or idea out of their imagination, and gave it a physical form.

You know yourself that before you set to task on a specific job or piece of work, that even a small thing like vacuuming the house or mowing the lawn can sometimes be a real burden. Your mind is constantly searching for excuses not to do a certain thing – ‘I’ll just wait and do it tomorrow’. But when you eventually end up doing it, you find that it wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

The human mind is a powerful thing – it is our portal to reality and as such has a very powerful influence on what we perceive as being reality. It is very good in convincing us that we are not good at something, or that a particular idea we thought of is going to fail.

Achieving success in an online business relies on one’s ability to perform a wide variety of skills that require action and consistency, and as such, goes against the normal tendency for humans to be lazy. But getting into the habit of taking action, even a small task like writing a blog post, or participating in a social network, on a consistent basis, will soon enable you to see the results of your efforts. It won’t take long to realize that success is not a matter of IF it will happen, but more a matter of WHEN.
